HOMELESS IN CHANKANAI, JAFFNA
Many families in the Jaffna area had their houses destroyed in the recent conflict. This family are staying in a nearby church, hoping that some day they will be able to rebuild on their land. They have plenty of space on which to build a house and to make a home again. The father, Kanistan is a fisherman, but he also is a volunteer teacher at a children's club. He has a wife, Aksa, and daughter Abisha. To build a small home would cost 7500. If you or your school or organisation feel you can fund the building of Kanistan's home, or help any other homeless family in Jaffna, please email Bob Uppington (Chair of Trustees, SHIVA Charity) at shivanepal@yahoo.com
