After years of wear and tear, Jyamdi School, Nepal has been completely repainted both inside and out thanks to a generous donation from the RAOB ( Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes) in the UK.The school is located  in a small village 7 kilometres from Dolalghat, off the Araniko Highway, and is accessed by crossing the Chakhola river. The original building was made with just mud and stone and was very dark and damp but was reconstructed in concrete and brick by Shiva Charity in 2006. This summer we received a call from the head teacher to say that the school was in desperate need of redecorating so we rallied a small workforce to complete the job. The first 4 photos below show the school before work commenced and the final 4 show the pretty spectacular transformation that was achieved. Everyone is pleased with the result and our thanks go to the hard work of the local Shiva team.We hope when when the children return they will like their new classrooms. If you would like to contribute to the work of the Shiva Charity, please visit:
