Kavita the caterpillar liked to eat leaves. She was happy to walk in the grass and look for food. She went for a walk every day.
On Sunday she saw a bird flying in the sky. "Why can't I fly?" Kavita asked.
"You do not have wings!" said the bird.
On Monday she saw a flower. "Why can't I fly?" Kavita asked. The flower smiled. "You have many legs for walking!" said the flower.
On Tuesday she saw a rabbit. "Why can't I fly?" Kavita asked.
The rabbit said, "I don't know anything. I don't go to school."
On Wednesday she asked a fish. On Thursday she asked a monkey, on Friday she asked a snake, and on Saturday she sat on a leaf and cried and cried and fell asleep.
Kavita went to sleep for sixteen days. When she woke up she had changed into a butterfly. Her wings were full of colours, and she could fly. How happy she was!
