2008: KENT COLLEGE, NEPAL, an ambitious project by KENT COLLEGE in Pembury (Kent), to renovate a nursery school and build a new junior school.
SHIVA Charity (UK) were asked by Kent College, Pembury, to find a poor school to help financially and educationally as an ongoing, long term commitment. After seeing photos of this poor nursery school in Lahachok, near Pokhara, they decided to make a quick donation to cover the cost of plastering the walls, concreting the mud floor, and bringing in some equipment. The college also designed a badge and funded a school uniform.
Then they set to work raising funds so that now we have built the ground floor of a new Kent College Junior School. By 2010 we hope to build the second floor, and eventually have a library and computer room.
