Rabita the rabbit lives in a hole
With grass for her carpet and mud for her wall.
She loves to play hopscotch,* and skipping is fun,
And Rabita can jump up as high as the sun.
But if you look for Rabita she hides in her lair,*
And she twitches her nose to smell if you are there.
Rabita is clever and Rabita is wise
And you'll never catch her, it's useless to try.
* "Hopscotch" is a game where you hop into numbered squares (drawn on the ground). "Dhak" is a similar Nepal game.
* "Lair" is where rabbits live underground... also called a "warren".
