Woodblock printing is the oldest printmaking technique itwas invented in China 2000 years ago. they were used then for official stamps and seals. paper was invented in china in 105 AD, and then printing became very widely used for design and illustration.
In the classroom, students draw and colour ink-stamped figures produced commercially (in Kathmandu), adding scenery to them. the results are always pleasing, and it encourages these educationally deprived children to begin to develop creative skills.
